Honestly considering I’ve had 4 speeding tickets for 1 over the limit this year and my speedo is from the 80s and wobbles a bit, I’m genuinely inclined to call for the destruction of the infernal piece of shit cameras. They want to place 2k extra ANPR cameras this year on top of the already existing 1700 cameras that were shown to cause privacy issues. We basically live in a police state where every movement is registered at this point and last year there were six million speeding tickets, forecast to be double that again this year. Excuse me?
The whole country is infested with traffic camera’s. I get that it can help in safer traffic by enforcing speed limits in places or roads where speeding causes regular accidents or creates unsafe traffic conditions.
But traffic policing has been almost totally automated at this point. Any infraction a camera is not able to detect is almost never fined. You can drive like a total nut, blackout drunk and as long as you don’t speed or drive through a red light when there is a red-light camera, your chances of being caught are next to nothing.

[that’s more fines than there are people above the age of 18 in this fucking country.](https://bestat.statbel.fgov.be/bestat/crosstable.xhtml?view=161080d2-d411-4e40-9a0f-a27db5e2b6e1)

How about learning to abide by traffic rules.
