Airline passengers taken hostage by Saddam Hussein in Kuwait are set to sue the UK government and could seek £170,000 each over claims their flight was allowed to land despite officials knowing Iraq had already invaded the country

    I don’t know how quickly information get passed around, especially “in the early hours” of the morning, so not sure if it’s possibly to action a response, disseminate the instructions, and get the plane to turn back in such a short time frame. I suppose that is part of what this claim is about.

  2. Surely they should aim their action at the Government of the time, or the people in office who made (or not made) the decisions.

  3. It was allowed to land as it was carrying some…. burly gentlemen from Hereford who were to able to get off quickly after landing.
