It used to have a really bad smell problem. I believe it was near some sewerage treatment plant in the occupied area. That gave it a pretty bad rep, but overall it’s a really nice area with some incredibly beautiful old neo-classical and art deco houses.
During the invasion there were hard fought battles there as well as the SOPAZ chemicals scandal
