Hey guys! I’ve got a question belonging my tax return from 2021.
I have a ‘Ausländerausweis B’ but in 2021 i payed into the Vorsorge 3a and as I had an additional income I was told to do a tax return and got a letter from the Steueramt these days.
Am I right with the guess that first it was calculated with a return of 420 CHF and now with the letter it says with 0 CHF i don’t have to pay but won’t get anything back?
Thanks😊

Hard to be sure with so little info.
First is the one you did yourself, estimated based on what you filed.
Second is what they actually accepted, and it shows you should pay more than what is currently taken at source.
What it means is that you filed it incorrectly and they corrected, or you did it right and they corrected wrong. In this later case you should contest it.
It also potentially means that you received bad advice, as one should work on an estimate before asking to file their taxes.
It can go lower or higher than what you have at source, it is not always a good move.
