The issue is everything is a mystery with my grandfathers ww2 military history… we have been told lots of things. One of the things we have been told is he was a very big deal and did things that wareented him a hero. I dont care if he was or not and just want to know what his life mostly would of been like fighting in WW2. Im at least hoping to better understand what the records say… I see that there are xxxxxx’s blocking out some info on one of the documents and am curios as to why. Just a summary or insights would be most appreciated. We have been told extremely crazy stories about him being part of secret commando missions etc and want to know if there’s any credence to this. We have also been told he escaped nazi capture more than once.
