What’s the deal with the no parking sign in Finland? I see it everywhere yet everyone is parked there. Are all these cars parked illegally?

  1. Those 3 cars (taxi, tesla? and BMW are parked illegally IF THEY ARE PARKED. This image doesn’t actually show whether the cars are stopped or parked. Stopping is allowed. I would guess that the taxi for instance is just stopped. If you just stop for a short while, it is unlikely you would get fined so people do it.

  2. Ones between first and second sign are illegally parked, as there is no additional info. Ones after the second sign aren’t as long as they have bought the parking ticket, as indicated by the lower sign

  3. It’s an “Allowed stopping but forbidden parking” sign, meaning you can stop there legally but can’t park it there. As long as you are in the vehicle and vehicle is running and hazard lights are on you are completely legal. But like everywhere in the world nobody gives a damn about that sign.

So to answer your question: Yes, they are all illegally parked there, except if there is another sign saying it’s allowed to park but in certain time. I think there is that sign next to the BMW.
