  7. I am reading the sub cost 300 million and launched Kalibar missles, it will not be in service for a while, and the landing ship was 17 million.

    That’s a lot of money.

    Will no one think of the struggling oligarchs!

  13. Quick analysis about the visable damage:

    The hit appears to have occured right aft the main superstructure, where the chimney sits.
    In most cases this is the most vurnerable part of the ship because this is where you have the least protected portion of the maschine room and other vital parts of the main compartments

    The color of the mast indicats a fire that broke out on the inside of the ship. It burned long and hot enought to burn away the coating of the mast which could indicate severe damage on the inside of the ship

    The ship lays slightly to the right. Could be from the impact or structural damage.

    It is difficult to see if there are other damages from additional hits or secondary explosions.

    Conclusion:

    It looks like this ship was hit in the chimney area and a fire occured most likely deep in the ship.
    If true this thing is out of commission for a long time or even has to be completely written of.

    Present state of Putin’s force-forward naval repairs in Occupied Crimea: come for dry dock refurbishment, leave as a future pot or pan.
