Before he died, Kolya sent a video from his last position. I am not sure if it will be allowed to be published. It shows the corpses of killed Ukrainian soldiers. Those who were fighting yesterday, talking, maybe even laughing. We are already used to such videos, and we do not react to them sharply, until the time when they show our friends or acquaintances. There have been a lot of deaths lately, and there used to be funerals once a month in our neighborhood, now every week, sometimes twice a week. Over the past month, I attended the funeral of my classmate and close friend, and I knew the other victims, but not so closely. I was holding on, but the death of Kolya, another friend of mine, was the straw that broke the elephant’s back, I just can’t get it together. Girls aged 25-35 become widows with small children in their arms. My hatred for russians is deepening every day…Why can’t they just disappear and leave easa alone?
P.S. thank you to everyone who writes comments in support both in this post and in the past, I really read them all, but I don’t have the strength to respond yet.

  1. The loss is unimagineable. I am so sorry for all the pain you and so many Ukrainians have to go through, needlessly, for the egotistical prick in Moscow. I hate and despise ruzzians – ALL russians – to the depth of my being. I don’t car eif they’re one of the ‘good ones’ – why aren’t those ‘good ones’ who are safe in other countries fighting for peace, protesting, calling for an end to this monstrous war?

Because they aren’t against it, they only want to be safe from their own government.

Rest in Peace, Kolya, you will stay forever young in your loved ones’ hearts.

    This just makes me cry.

  2. I’m very sorry for your loss and the loss of all our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, and children. This is a horrific war and there is no justification for it. Our people are putting their lives on the line so that our children have a future and the cost is immeasurable.

I fully agree – all we want is to be left alone to live our lives in peace. Ukraine must defend itself and withstand this assault, as otherwise all of these people would have died in vain.

We really need support of not just western countries, but ordinary people from around the world. It’s not the governments, but the people behind them who must support Ukraine.

    Stay strong

  3. This is a photo screenshot from the video, at first he showed the area and his dead comrades, then switched the camera to selfie mode. This is a look directed at his dead friends.

  4. Be kind and gentle with yourself. Take your time and know that the whole civilized world is behind you. Condolences from Germany! Kolya’s sacrifice was not in vain. You will prevail!

Im sorry that Ukrainians have to deal with a neighbor like russia, we have had the same faith here in Estonia, nothing can be said to soften the tragedy.
And the pain will be felt for generations, sadly. But theres no going back now, youve lost too much already… I just hope that the world will unite and help Ukraine in every possible way.
