  1. “Can we have a referendum?”

    “No “

There you go. Sorted it for them

  2. Negotiations will go as follows:

SNP: We are here to negotiate!

    Westminster: No.

  3. The Loch Ness monster existing has a better of happening than Scotland getting Independence at this point.

  4. Wait… they’re now saying they’ll start negotiating independence even if they get less than 50% of the popular vote? So not even asking for a referendum?

In fact they’re just saying “most seats”, so even if they barely get 30% of the popular vote they could still consider that a mandate for independence – if we take them at their word

Do independence supporters actually think that would be fair?

  5. Interesting that Scotland entered the Union because it bankrupt itself with some idiotic and poorly planned imperial scheme, and now it seeks to leave the Union in order to bankrupt itself with some idiotic and poorly planned anti-imperial scheme.

  6. The best argument against Scottish independence is the SNP.

  7. This is the demography of Scotland

    [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demography_of_Scotland#/media/File:Scotland_Population_pyramid_estimate_2020.svg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demography_of_Scotland#/media/File:Scotland_Population_pyramid_estimate_2020.svg)

In the next 20 years Gen X, the big bulge in their 50s, leaves the working population and is replaced by the 2/3rds the sized groups 0-20 range. The working age will shrink the retired age will boom.

As soon as negotiations begin in earnest the financial markets will start to price this in.

Its not going to be pretty for any attempt to raise sovereign debt. Think Greece, just colder.

  8. Do you ever try posting anything that doesn’t put Scotland or the SNP down? You’re obsessed.
