  2. If they have that capability and if they chose to exercise it nobody would buy another product from China again.

  3. Hopefully they don’t pull an Elon.

    At the same time, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to diversify from DJI or learn to hack the software.

  5. This has been a problem all along… Relying on the goodness of DJI to keep the drones flying, luckily the pilots are switching faster and faster over to 100% selfmade open source drones

  7. How do they now which drones are used by Ukraine and which are used by russia?

  8. They can’t stop their export of fentanyl into the US but they are going to stop drones from being sent to Ukraine?

  10. If the Chinese had such a capability and used it, there would be an immediate collapse of the Chinese electronics industry as all their products would immediately be viewed with extreme suspicion.

  14. There are US drone companies emerging. Largest defense budget. Don’t be naive.

  15. In all fairness. It’s a drone company, privately owned (maybe, dont know), and it does put them in a bit of a situation. Regardless of which side of the fence they sit, they may have personal ethical issue with allowing their technology to be used for war. They may not have prepared themselves for the eventuality that their home toy drones would be used for war. So far though, the company has let it go.

  16. Might sound like a broken record, but not going to happen. Not over Ukraine at least. Despite verbal support China has taken a very wait and see approach. They will probably help russia where they see greater benefit for themselves because China cares about nothing but the benefits to itself. Limiting or hijacking the capabilities of its exported electronics? Even if they have the capability the very moment they do it is the very moment it’s electronics market and exports collapse. No one will trust electronics made in China. Factories will shift elsewhere. Global supply will certainly feel a pinch for a time, but China will be devastated for decades. If China were at risk of losing a war I could see it happening, but they will never shoot themselves in the foot solely to assist someone else. I mean when was the last time China actually helped someone else without either significant return on investment or outright scamming them?

  18. Remember how the Chinese prime minister spoke out about how evil it is to put sanctions on another country, when the west sanctioned moscow. He did this because he is afraid of receiving the same treatment.

    I doubt that China would give the west a good reason to apply sanctions to them, but if they do, I am sure that their precariously perched economy will fail…..

  20. If I was worried about that and was pro Ukraine, I wouldnt be writing all sorts of articles giving exposure to the risk simply for clickbait

  21. THEY CAN ALSO DO IT WITH DJI drones. China has been proven to use DJI products to spy on HUGE U.S.-based companies. Wasn’t gonna put that out there til it started to get brought up, but they can easily spy on everything UKR is doing via DJI and transmit it to Russia and/or at the very least sabotage the drones.
