  1. Lisbon is in a league of it’s own if you compare the average salary of the respective countries.

  2. What happened in Lisbon? Digital nomads screwing up the supply and demand?

  3. Properties in Europe are getting old, and each time you have to pay higher prices for an older place

  4. I mean I know Lisbon is expensive, but 2500€ for a 1 bedroom is the median? That is news to me and I live here.

  5. The numbers seem way too high for a 1 bedroom compared to reality.

AFAIK the prices in Berlin are about 1000 euros and in Amsterdam around 1500 for a 1 bedroom

  6. Who rents fully furnished? Those are for holiday lets? Prices are high but selecting this category is exaggerating the issue.

  7. Sure, just another BS advertisement spamming statistics from statistia.

    Greetings from Munich.

  8. Many people here think Athens is more expensive but rents are about 300-500 euros for a one bedroom flat to a very good 50 sq 2 room one. Minimum wage is 780 per month (14 wages in private sector). Although accounting minimum wage for this is levelling down in my head since the minimum wage is only for workers who just started. Economic crisis basically made the market dead till about 2017, ever since the house market is booming.

  9. In Budapest this definitely has to do with Airbnb (where people buy up flats in various dubiously legal/ethical means and make their living renting them out) and related gentrification, as well as foreign individuals or their companies (mostly Russian, Turkish and Chinese) buying up entire blocks and renting them out at insane prices.

Oh, and the housing crisis, of course. We’re at the point where you simply can’t buy even a smaller flat without a) getting into debt for life – with completely unpredictable installment payments, b) being rich, or c) having “good connections” (ie. relying on dubiously legal/ethical means).
