Barely any attention is paid to sex education in educational goals, Sensoa warns: “TikTok and porn are taking over school”

  1. That tik-tok video of the lady tracking her menstrual cycle with graphs and measuring temperatures… Taking a pill seems infinitely easier without the obvious fact that it’s clearly the better option if the goal is not to get pregnant.

  2. > Ook in klassen met meer diversiteit, krijgen ze soms ouders over de vloer die dergelijke lesinhoud niet op prijs stellen

I guess that mess in Charleroi does prove that point, unfortunately.

  3. The majority of us are against those violent attacks to schools and irrational opposition against the EVRAS mandatory sexual education, especially “fueled” by extremist Muslims groups.

But that is in Wallonia. How is the situation about sex education in Flanders?

According to this VRT information, SENSOA (the institution in charge of sex education in Flanders) is complaining about the low levels of sex education, especially since the reduction in the educational goals, fueled by Catholic schools, Steiner and some art schools…

I really wonder how Catholic schools are teaching about subjects like the use of condoms, when Catholic Church forbids its use? This seems contradictory.

Anybody that went to Catholic school can share his/her experience with sex education?

This seems to be quite important because it seems that the use of condom has decreased to very low levels in Flanders: ([source Sensoa](https://www.sensoa.be/anticonceptiegebruik-bij-belgische-jongeren-en-volwassenen-feiten-en-cijfers))

    >**A minority of Flemish young people say that they used a condom during their most recent sexual contact. In 2022 this was 44.3%.**

    >Compared to 2018 findings, the percentage of young people who used a condom during first-time sex decreased across all age groups. The lowest prevalence was observed among 13- to 14-year-olds (44.4%), followed by 15- to 16-year-olds (63.3%). The highest prevalence of condom use during first sexual contact was observed among 17 to 18 year olds (67.2%).

  4. There’s love without sex and there’s sex without love… Then there’s You, without either.
