At first, I thought it’s maybe an error in the maps, but several unrelated maps have the same pattern, so this made me wonder. Do you know more about it ? Is there any truth to those maps ?

Maps claiming to show hair color in Europe. There are lighter dots in Switzerland compared to adjacent countries, is there any explanation why ?
