Cool, I support her right to in a fair and democratic judicial system
Will do a fat lot of good mind you

100% her right to do so.
How far it will get her is to be seen, but she (and everyone else) has that right.
She has the right to appeal tbf, as well as legal representation (as per the justice system).
That said, I don’t think there’s any doubt about her culpability in these. The facts of the case are pretty strong
Obviously.
I think she is guilty based on what I’ve seen but she has the right to appeal. And was always going to appeal being one of the most reviled people in the country
Will she bother to show up to her appeal if it’s granted?
Is there any doubt to her case to appeal that we don’t know of, or is she barking up the wrong tree here?
On what basis does she expect to get permission to appeal?
She must really be convinced she didn’t do it. That or just wants to try and game the system for a lesser sentence.
Hey if she wants another crack at proving she didn’t do it then by all means, let’s see what she’s got. All I’m saying is a string of baby deaths, 3 of which were at a different hospital while she was working there temporarily, doesn’t look good.
It’s not surprising, she has nothing to lose by doing this
Let’s be clear, she did it. Can’t disagree with the verdict. However, my mind literally can’t comprehend what the motive could be. Or why, she wouldn’t at this point confess and try to give the parents some closure. Evil bitch? Probably not that simple.
But imagine if she didn’t do it… like fuck, imagine be convicted of the most heinous crime imaginable.
Thankfully, she did it. Whole thing was pretty straight forward, and the justice system works for the most part, so she had her chance to prove she didn’t. I’m glad she is appealing, convict her again and make sure of it. Maybe then she’ll confess the reasons.
Ah yes you murdered how many babies? Yea appeal all you want you tramp, rot in jail and then rot in hell.
To anyone who is not very familiar with this case, I implore you to visit r/scienceLucyLetby and [rexvlucyletby2023.com](https://rexvlucyletby2023.com) . The latter was created by a PHD in Biochemistry and she has done a great job and debunking the science that the prosecution brought to the jury in this trial. She has also done a great job at distancing herself from conspiratorial professional contrarians that this case seems to have collected.
As a physician this story infuriates me. Whatever consequences the hospital admin staff suffer are not enough.
Do you think she’s on denial? I feel like after each death she convinced herself of her own cover stories.
Almost entirely circumstantial evidence. A rabid media desperate for a lynching. I think she’s innocent.
It’s extremely difficult to get permission to appeal in the UK. The system is loaded to give the impression that original verdicts are safe. They don’t allow an appeal unless there is very strong evidence of innocence. It’s a completely different threshold than the original trial where thete is a presumption of innocence I have no idea about her guilt or innocence, but I don’t have much faith in the British criminal justice system.
I don’t know if she is guilty. But it does seem that the only thing connecting it to her is just that she is the only one who had opportunity in all cases. It does seem unlikely that that is very rock solid.

Just as a side note, many psychologists have made statements that Lucy Letby is a outliers in terms of displaying the psychological markers of a serial killer, for example, [interview with Dr Sohom Das](https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/she-wasn-t-aggressive-or-antisocial-psychiatrist-explains-why-lucy-letby-is-unique-compared-to-other-offenders-101693704482110.html). Wouldn’t the simpler conclusion be that Lucy Letby doesn’t match psychological markers of a serial killer because… she’s not a serial killer.
