Thanks to urgent action, U.S. manufacturing is now on pace to hit the 100,000-new-shells-per-month mark as soon as the year 2025, much earlier than originally expected, [according to a Defense News article.](https://www.defensenews.com/pentagon/2023/09/15/production-of-key-munition-years-ahead-of-schedule-pentagon-says/)

Although 2025 is a long time away, this means that the United States can give its currently-existing shells to Ukraine more generously right now, with less fear of running out in the near future, given that the replacement shells will come in faster.

In the meantime, if America would transfer those 2-3 million DPICM cluster shells currently sitting in the inventory, that would take care of all of Ukraine’s artillery needs tidily between now and 2025. Still eager to see close-up photos of what cluster munitions do to Russian-invader innards…
