So my friend and I were walking around Brugge the other day when a taxi driver pulled over, motioned us to come closer, and said things like “do you want to be my s*x friend” and “call me at night”. As we walked away I took a picture of his license plate and though I don’t think I’m able to (I have no video proof) or want to put in the energy (I’m just a tourist) to file a report, I still don’t feel like letting him get away with this. I’m thinking about emailing the company about it but I can’t identify the taxi company by looking at the vehicle and honestly I’m not sure if this is the smartest way to go about it. Any suggestions?
Also kind of off topic but I’m curious about the living situation of Asian people(perhaps women in particular) here. Of course I’m not generalizing the whole city/population, but in the very short three days my friends and I have been staying here, we’ve received alarming amounts of catcalls, “China or Japan?” questions or remarks, and long stares. Some actions could be perceived innocent, genuinely out of curiosity, but overall it was quite shocking and offensive. We did still meet a lot of friendly and amazing people here but after several incidents we started wondering if this is something that happens quite often or are we just extremely unlucky haha
