This post is clearly an attempt to white-wash the neo-nazi Azov battalion, whose logo and insignia prominently feature [popular neo-Nazi symbols: the Wolfsangel (a runic double hook) and the Sonnenrad (sun wheel)](https://www.thenation.com/article/world/azov-battalion-neo-nazi/tnamp/). This unit has committed war crimes, including [torture of people and other absolutely inhumane acts](https://www.osce.org/files/f/documents/e/7/233896.pdf).

   The red-and-black flag patch on the Azov battalion soldier is the flag of the fascist OUN-B, a [well-documented nazi collaborator organization](https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Ivan-Katchanovski/publication/262727967_The_Organization_of_Ukrainian_Nationalists_the_Ukrainian_Insurgent_Army_and_the_Nazi_Genocide_in_Ukraine/links/00b49538a128e7b157000000/The-Organization-of-Ukrainian-Nationalists-the-Ukrainian-Insurgent-Army-and-the-Nazi-Genocide-in-Ukraine.pdf?origin=publication_detail). It was involved in [mass killings of jewish people](https://carlbeckpapers.pitt.edu/ojs/index.php/cbp/article/download/164/160) in Ukraine during the nazi occupation –
