UNICEF UK, who commissioned a survey carried out by YouGov, warns that expensive childcare, fewer support services and the cost of housing are contributing to parents worrying about their children’s development:^1
>Of 2,661 parents with children aged four and under surveyed, 70% said it is getting harder to be a parent in Britain.
>The current cost of living is impacting 83% of those surveyed.

No doubt there’ll be some apologists along any minute to spout crap like “if you can’t afford kids don’t have them” and “you just have to cut your cloth accordingly”, as if that’s any sort of excuse for the government shutting increasingly more people out of being able to afford any joy in life.
This is what happens when you normalise dual income families this is the end game
That’s been the case for a while tbh. It’s only the super rich and very poor who don’t need to think twice about procreating. The squeezed middle are screwed (pardon the pun)
