Hope this is allowed to be posted here, but as per the link, a Youth Mobility Visa agreement between Finland and Canada has been signed and is expected to take affect from next year – people from both countries aged 18-35 are eligible to live in the other for a year.
“This new agreement will allow Canadian and Finnish youth, aged 18 to 35, to work and travel in each other’s country under International Experience Canada (IEC) or the Finnish equivalent. There are three categories under IEC: Working Holiday, International Co-op (internship) and Young Professionals. Youth will be able to participate in the program for up to 12 months per category.”
I’m a Canadian in the UK, but once I get my UK citizenship next year I’m going to go for this. I’m 35 in a few years, so want to do it before I’m too old! And I love Finland and have visited many times/have lots of friends here (and my Finnish could use some improving).
