did…did you place a Roy Lichtenstein over Lichtenstein?
Vatican twice
I wouldn’t say the starry night had much effect on history, which probably holds for a lot of the other paintings as well making the title somewhat of an empty statement.
Ilya Repin wasn’t Russian, he was Ukrainian and from Ukraine, so Russia shouldn’t be credited with that.
Maybe it’s because I’m Romanian but Romania’s painting is the only one that seems like it fits the country’s culture the most. Maybe Serbia’s too. The other paintings could’ve been switched around and I wouldn’t’ve been any wiser.
I would have put “Impression, Sunrise” by Claude Monet for France
You had one job… the famous Serbian medieval fresco (White Angel) that was sent as a message in the first satellite broadcast signal from Europe to America after the Cuban Missile Crisis, as a symbol of peace and civilization. Later, the same signal, containing the White Angel, was transmitted to space in an attempt to communicate with extraterrestrial life forms.
And yet you put a corrupted artist, that had very little effect on culture or history of the world.
Still you left Kosovo as a part of Serbia so I forgive you XD
The Vatican is in there twice. The school of Athenes is a fresko inside the fromer private chambers of Pope Julius II.
French one is iconic
Even the court jester doesn’t smile in Poland
Sweden… why?
What’s the name of the Portuguese one?
This map does not recogize kosovo
No art changed history if not for history of arts.
Btw, great post
I know It’s Picasso, but why that one? Aren’t Guernica or Les Demoiselles d’Avignon way more influential?
On a similar note las Meninas from Velázquez ranks among the most studied works of art in history. The “3rd of may” is also one of the most influential anti-war works of art.
So why did you choose that one?
What’s the UK one?
I have a different picture for Germany
For Italy hands down the Davide con la testa di Golia of Caravaggio
his style influenced a lot the painters all over europe, but tbh its hard to choose for us… to many iconic works…
Where’s Kosovo?
what’s the German one? Looks cool
“Most happy Polish person” the painting
Why that Neo-gothic puke represents Hungary is beyond me. I show that building to my friends and they say, man london looks great.
