The population of Ukraine 🇺🇦 was in serious decline even before the invasion. It will be hard to recover over after losing so many of their youngest and finest to war and displacement. The population will halve by 2100. www.populationpyramid.net/ukraine/2023/

What about ruzzia?
Its not like they a choice. Bleed ruSSia dry
Just mechanical extrapolation from few data points in a rapidly changing country does not give results worth anything.
I still don’t understand why the population declines in the Baltic look THAT catastrophic. Aren’t they relatively richer?
This graph looks like most other European countries. We’ll see what changes after the war.
Assuming the Ruble keeps falling at the same pace it has been falling under 2023 it will reach a value of 0 in late 2026.
Ye like anyone on earths gonna make it til 2100
Not if they import millions of fine engineers and doctors from africa
It’s a problem and a similar one to what most of eastern Europe has seen over the last decade.
There at least we are seeing some of the people who moved away return as their economies have improved. The long term solution for Ukraine is probably the same – EU membership. Massive foreign investment and hopefully it will eventually recover.
I think after winning the war Ukraine will thrive. People will come back home, families will have more children, there will be tons of jobs and opportunities to rebuild.
Millions of people left Ukraine as well. Some have already returned, and maybe some more will. Still, Germany alone has 1 million registered Ukrainian refugees, many of them children, the chances that they return are low.
If the west has such a hard on for China, as they clearly have and for a long time, why do they have to involve Taiwan? Or is Taiwan the last piece of the puzzle allowing for a credible reason the west can tout to the world for a war with China, and Taiwan is also needed for providing the battleground? (Which obviously the west wants as far from its shores as possible).
2100 is very far away. The world will change rapidly between now and then. What happens after the war will determine the outlook more, a baby boom or not. Predictions like these should be taken with a pound of salt. The IMF can’t even predict what the economy of the UK is gonna in a timeframe of a few years.
I have Dosen neighbour’s who manage to flee before 2014. They all said to me Ukraine was beyond saving way before the war
I was led to believe that there was usually an uptick in births after a big war. Especially if Ukraine gets off well in the end, they will also be getting financial support from the west akin to western Germany and Japan. Hoperully that will set them on a better track, but of course, that depends on how the war will go
After the war a lot of African refugees will take over the spots of low trained workers in the rebuilding process.
And if it wins the war… things will be promising and people will flood into the country to enjoy the opportunities of western fuelled prosperity.
There is no value to the datas. Top right is horrible datas. Does that mean there wont be Ukrainian by 2100?
Welfare benefit to have one million ukranian women have 10 million babies each for ten years, while paying for all there expenses plus double the gdp per capita of ukraine, problem solved 18 years later
We have no idea how many soldiers and civilians die in Ukraine. I have a suspicion it’s way more than it is hinted at sadly
I wonder if limitation of birthcontroll and abortion will become bigger talking points in europe. If mass migration is not wanted, then i see basically no other option but accepting fate. Shrinking wealth and an econemy that soley exists to support the elderly.
I think this is nonsense. I suspect that if Russia is defeated, or at least forced into a peace settlement there will be tough protections for Ukraine built in to any settlement, followed by a massive influx of capital comparable to the Marshall plan after WW2. The capital influx will also encourage a huge number of refugees to return in order to help rebuild their country.
Ukraines population was projected to halve by 2100, even before the war. Same for most other Eastern countries – Poland, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, etc.
Speaking of immigrants. There were already talks about that in the Ukrainian part of Twitter. And let’s say that people aren’t really in favor of that. Especially guys from the military. Like, “We aren’t fighting and dying here so random people from somewhere else would live in our stead on our land”. Existential war makes people really sensitive to such stuff.
So I don’t believe that that question is safe to bring up in the near future after the war ends. We don’t even know when and how it will end yet.
It’s called Genocide
And thousands deported kids and adults to Russia
One solution would be to encourage Nigerian , Libyan, Afghani, and Pakistani refugees to come to the country.
The latest estimate is that there are currently still about 29 million people living in Ukraine.
