I fear the law of unintended consequences here or as they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions…
There are registered charities out there like the Mothers Union, they are very much faith based and there are others like the Boys Brigade. The MU were known to be erm… very traditionalist. This has given them carte blanche to get involved in politics now, and it might be a form of politics some here won’t like. Especially if the MU is looking at the evangelicals in the US.
Oh and in other news governments can change charity laws to prevent political activity if they are the target of critisism…
