  1. Text: Pelley: Can you give up any part of Ukraine for peace?

Zelenskyy (translated): No. This is our territory.

Pelley: You must have it all? Including Crimea?

Zelenskyy (translated): Today you and I… you said it to me… you saw me awarding people [medals]. [Well] today is a day like that. A week ago, I gave awards to parents [of soldiers who have been killed]. There were 24 families of the dead. There was a woman. She was with three children. There were parents, very old. They could barely walk and they had had only one son. One of the women was pregnant. She arrived holding a baby in her arms. And she was pregnant. And that baby will never see… what should I tell them? That all of them died so that we could say, “It’s okay, [Russia] you can take it all.” It’s a difficult job. You understand me, right? Giving awards to people whose faces show their whole world has collapsed. And all I can give them, all I can give them – is victory.

  2. “All I can give them… ALL I can give them… is victory”

That gave me goosebumps. What a powerful speaker, even with needing a translator.

  3. He forgot to add – if he gives territories to Russia, imagine what else they would try to pull…

  4. This is why he is our president. He represents us!

We would remove him if he said any different.

  5. Over 86% of Ukrainians are against giving land for peace. Not just because of the losses Ukraine has suffered, but because peace with Russia is never an actual state. Ukraine had the Budapest Memorandum that gave up their nuclear weapons for security guarantees from Russia in the 1990s. If Ukraine gives up land now, Russia will come back in 10-20 years, better prepared and do worse. Russians are never to be trusted. Ask the Poles, Baltics, Finland, Georgia or any of the countries around them. Take this opportunity to finally destroy the Russian evil and kick them out of Ukraine and bring Ukraine into NATO. They would never dare to threaten Ukraine once in NATO.

  6. Since it’s a broadcast for an American audience, I wish the audience could be asked which part of the United States we would sacrifice to an invading foreign power in order to have peace?

  7. Never appease a bully. Strength and bravery exemplified in this tireless leader who is perfect for this crisis.

  8. Did he actually ask’ do you need to have it all?

    WTF?

  9. You don’t negotiate with terrorists. You give an inch and they will always be demanding more.

  10. Why is this question even asked to a country that was INVADED? Why does the oppressor get to keep illegal lands?

  11. Its insane how obvious it is that Ukraine are the right side on this. It’s clearly a given but just in the way this guy speaks, its so clear he’s in the right. You don’t see ANY russian leadership talking like this, you see no words of assurance from their talking heads or anything of the sort. Its so wild to me that a country that large is so easily swayed by weird nostalgia for an era 90% of them weren’t alive for, or even existed given how postwar USSR truly was.

  12. No. It’s like ask American give California for the Mexico

  13. For me, thiz is kind of a WTF question to ask.
Somebody breaks into your house, rapes your wife, kills your kids, and steals everything that’s not nailed down, and then burns your house as they leave.
“Yeah, you can keep my stuff, and don’t forget to come back and poison the soil. It’s cool.”
Putin and the Russians don’t want just Crimea and the Donbas, they want it all, and all the other eastern european countries.
To suggest that Ukraine sue for peace is just not stupid, it’s smacks of victim-blaming, and suggests to me a thinly-veiled effort to placate Russia. Hard to not question why this journalist posed the question, in terms of ulterior motives.

This is a war caused entirely by a deluded megalomanic. You want peace? Russia out of Ukraine. Period. Why isn’t 60 Minutes interviewing Putin, asking him to end it?

  14. As if I could admire this guy anymore. I watched this interview and it was really inspiring. The West must continue funding these freedom fighters. The funding must continue after the shooting stops as well.

  15. People in the West still do not understand that this war can only end when the Russian army is completely destroyed. I mean completely, to the last standing Russian soldier.

  16. Weird when it’s Americans keep saying we do not negotiate with terrorist but reporters and some people in the United States are asking Ukraine to copulate for peace.
