Local shops only? If it wasn’t for immigrants opening shops in that area it would have literally nothing in it. The only people putting any investment and growth into the area are foreigners. Would they rather have slowly rotting vacants until the whole place gets bulldozed for middle class overpriced apartments?
As a brown man, I always find it weird when I find an Irish person who’s racist. I tend to wonder if they ever reflect back on the racism they had to endure.
Then again its normally the younger lot who are racist IME and the elders are fine.
