
I was at a Thomas Philipps and came acros this little section with food products that were all priced cheaper but they were all expired. As someone who worked at Lidl Belgium find this quite strange. I understand that they’re probably still okay to eat but why would I, as a company, risk a possible health violation and getting possibly sued.

That date guarantees a certain taste and/or consistency not that the food is safe to eat. For certain foods, the sale beyond the date is not a health risk.
That’s why they are cheap (damn 25 cents is a fucking steal)
And tbh I think that’s good. Instant noodles are still good easily past couple of months after the experation date
It would be a bummer if the shop had to throw this stuff away. I would buy it
