Idk where else to put this since I moved to Norway. Like my title says, is this possible? I started working as bicycle courier and noticed thst distance they calculating is far far off from mine. My watch for example days 40 km, my bike says 40 km, I take screeshot of every delivery (just the distance not the street) it says 40, then later on on the app I see something like 20, or 18km…. Is it possible they would do something liek this, and so transparent?
UPDATE : So I got an answer from them

I’m sorry I don’t know much about this, but do you get paid by how far you travel?
The system might automatically do the math in an straight line kind of thing and not the routes you need to go
Either way, if you get paid more depending on how far you travel then you need to contact them to get this fixed.
Once I work on a software that would calculate the distance between point A to point B in a straight line.
It was always wrong it would never take into account other factors like routes across a bridge, traffic, etc
If I were you I would send all your documentation to them as a “feedback” and ask them to open a case to review this and provide you with an answer .
Join a union if you haven’t already.
You only get distance between the restaurant and the customer, not for the travel to the restaurant itself or the return from the customer.
Foodora and Wolt are exploiting foreign workers. I don’t know how they’re legal in Norway.
I would look for another job, you’re worth more than that.
But to answer ur question, I think they calculate the straight air line to the customer – which ofc is very unrealistic.
I don’t know if they are stealing from employees but they have definitely a big problem with soft drinks. I have order thousand of times and I’m not getting the soft drinks
Wolt in the other hand does it perfectly
I noticed this as well a couple years ago when I was working for them. I was paid per delivery though so it never really affected me as far as payment, but at the end of the day I was curious how many kilometers I traveled and the app would say about 40-60 percent of what I had actually travelled.
Foodora calculates distance using Manhattan distance. That is why your watch and bike gives you a different number compared to foodora. They are most likely not cheating you, just bad at sharing information.
I worked for foodora… Never again. They are scammers and dont give a single fuck about their employes..
I would like to know: are you rlly delivering 40, 20 or even 18km? Its soooo far.
Definitely
Maybe they count the distance in air-line instead of the traveled route. You have to ask how they measure it.
