Could build about 50,000 council houses a year for that.
Money well spent though, do they get access to the mini fridge I wonder?
How much would it be to buy the hotel at this point?
Send them back where they came from and save all that money.
Could get another aircraft carrier
Or new council houses
Or hospitals
Education

No, instead we’re wasting it on illegal immigrants and putting Brits out of jobs. Great use of our tax money.
Catch up with the lost tax through the non dom loophole. Still a fair way off all the other loopholes for the wealthy… but.. immigrants arrrgh!
Imagine how many solicitors could have been employed to get these people processed for that money.
In other news, Tory donors secure lucrative government housing contracts.
We had basically zero problem with illegal immigrants………until Brexit.
The tory Brexit has created this mess…..
And everyone will fall for it. No one will blame the Tories. They’ll all act as though this is the only possible system. Its not, its purposefully broken and purposefully expensive.
Be angry at the Tories. We don’t have to have this shit system.
We could have free university tuition, but instead we’ve got to pay for this nightmare.
Why don’t we put them in refugee camps like literally every other country (eg, France)?
Would be a lot cheaper.
They are here to step in for the government when shit goes down….
It’s time to get real. We either need to:
a) Accept migrants will come here and house them accordingly (building hundreds of thousands of homes) and invest a lot more in our social services (NHS, schools, social care etc.) to compensate for the increased number of people or
b) Have some sort of ID card system so only residents of the UK can work in the UK and use our social services as a way of discouraging migrants.
But at the moment we have a lot of free services and a very forgiving system which will naturally attract people. And, of course, the fact English is an international language.
Well, what’s the alternative? Camps? Abandoned houses in impoverished communities? Or build them a new house free of charge or send them away? Really curious about the cheapest solution.
This is not the fault of the migrants, but you wouldn’t know it from the comments here.
Damn, parliament data shows there’s around 47,500 migrants in hotels at the moment, so that’s £168 a night. I hope they’re getting breakfast for that price.
