Sinn Féin really have to do nothing and sit back and let stupid stories win them votes.
No fear of it here, could be very interesting if they actually did sort it all out
I hear they’d replace the angelus with the wolf tones, Joe
SF voters aren’t I suspect RTE viewers for the most part anyway.
The whole point of not having direct exchequer funding of RTÉ was to make it more difficult for politicians to interfere and give RTÉ a measure of independence.
Every party should fear that their opposition would lean on the public broadcaster. It is fear of that kind of abuse that results in politicians putting in more robust checks and balances to avoid that when they are out of power. Complacency and reliance on norms over well considered systems, strong institutions, and robust rules seldom works out well in the long term.
Wouldn’t that mean who ever is in government is in control of RTÉ now?
LOL
I don’t like SF, I won’t vote for SF because I think they will make a balls of the economy and fleece any of us who are in the middle, drive investment out and focus so much on uniting the island everything else will fall apart.
He has made a very valid point about the dangers of any government directly funding a national broadcaster, but he has made himself look very silly here, it’s absolutely laughable . Jesus lads stick on debating SF on their policies and stop this scaremongering shite.
*”Next on news talk with the political win of SF, RTE are now in the Ra”*
I often think there is a limit to how stupid the media can get then I wake up another day and scroll through more stupiety than the day before.
Tiocfaidh ár Late Late Toy Show
RTE couldn’t possibly be worse.
Sinn Fein runs Hollywood
The smell of desperation off this
There is a level of irony here given the way RTE have treated SF in recent years.
