The inscription says:
CAROLUS IMPERATOR
IIII REX BOEMIE ME FEC
IT ET H. RORAW PRO
CURATOR HOSPITALIS
PRESENTIS ET NACIO
NIS BOHEMORUM RUIN
OSUM REFECIT ANNO
MCCCCLVII
Translated as:
>Charles IV, Emperor and king of the Bohemians, made me, and H. Roraw, head of the hospice and of the Bohemian community, repaired this ruin in the year 1457.
An hospice was not what we call hospice today, but rather a building made for pilgrims.
