Being gay isn’t enough for asylum, says UK gov official

  1. Shocked and disgusted at her appalling pedantic and mistaken speech.

    Per BBC:

*She says there has been an “interpretive shift away from ‘persecution,’ in favour of something more akin to a definition of ‘discrimination’,” – and that there has been a shift “away from a ‘well-founded fear’ toward a ‘credible’ or ‘plausible fear’.”*

  2. I get it you can’t really prove they aren’t just saying it to ensure they get asylum but still not ideal.

  3. And it shouldn’t be. Imagine people who really need asylum competing with someone who claims to have a sexual preference. It’s inappropriate and absurd.
