  1. 82nd Air Assault Brigade. Currently, the best armed Brigade Ukraine has was held in reserve.

The 47th did the dirty work, 82nd is coming in with fresh troops and fresh equipment. It has Marders, Strykers, and Challenger Tanks.

  2. > “What I didn’t like about the training, is that the Americans have no idea what the war is like here,” said Oleksandr. “They give us exercises to climb to the top of a building, shoot down a helicopter with a Stinger, and abseil back down on ropes.”

I guess blame it on bureaucracy? I wouldn’t want to have to ad hoc rewrite all the training curriculum, and retrain all the trainers, out of fear that the outcome would be less desirable then their time-tested, proven, training methods. I’m no military man, but seems like additional risk compared to sticking what works.

That all being said, who brings rope to a gun fight?
