Chinese has permitted VW to sell in China, because that guarantees that China automakers are able to sell in Europe. But at the same time, China knows that it will surpass WV, and they will have China and Europe, with WV out of the market
A better way to manage this would have been not to prohibit the selling of new Diesel car, but instead to make regulations to sell only the very efficient new cars. Instead, in Europe electric cars are very expensive, and people continue to hold or to buy second diesel cars. This strategy has made emissions to be higher.
Europe has played itself.
Maybe, just maybe… How about lowering prices?
Tell that to Tesla, lol
Are they still falsifying pollution reports?
Slow demand caused by high prices for something that doesn’t work. That will usually happen.
But at the same time crying over ‘chinese evs floodding europe’…
Cars sold in EU, UK & EFTA in 2019: 15,8 million units
Sales forecasts for 2023 are around 12,5 million units
The car market in Europe is on a downward slope and the contraction is unlikely to reverse. Young urban people are not interested in owning a car any more, and this trend will continue.
