I know this happened in the UK, but this news doesn’t really affect the UK in any meaningful way. This is more of a Canadian interest story than anything else.
I’ve read the transcript of the broadcast. It’s not pretty. It’s just “I’m not your friend, buddy” “I’m not your buddy, guy” “I’m not your guy, friend” back and forth over and over again. I thought we had better relations with the commonwealth than this.
Clearly this pilot was endeavouring to respect and participate in the customs and practices of the locals. The Canadian government should make them an ambassador.
