Before I moved to Germany to join my husband, the three things I knew of the country involved – Bread, Beer and the Hinterkaifeck murders.
I’m a true-crime junkie and I often love to read up on cold, or closed cases in recent history. Hinterkaifeck is on of them.
Having read up extensively on the gruesome murders and watching the dramatization of it on Lore (Amazon Prime); my theory is that the neighbor dunnit. All evidence point to it. But what astounds me is that he was not tried at all, and before his death, he was able to win severel cases of “public slander” against him. People, ofcourse talk.
I want to know what you guys make of it, why was the case closed and why were potential suspects like the neighbor, let go of that easily????
Also, I don’t know if it would be sensible to make the piligrimmage to Hinterkaifeck, but I somehow want to visit the site and pay my respects. Or whatever.
