“The Ukrainian Esports Federation is shocked and outraged by the decision of the International Esports Federation (IESF) to allow Russia to return to the international esports community.
This decision is shameful and disrespectful, as it ignores the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in which the Russian Esports Federation (RESF) is an active participant.
Russian esports athletes should not be allowed to represent their country on the international stage while Russia continues its war against Ukraine.
This decision is a blow not only to us, but to the entire international esports community, which strives for peace and harmony. It gives the Russian regime a green light to continue the war and shows that the IESF does not uphold the values set out in its own statute.
The voting mechanism in April 2022 to impose sanctions was also manipulative, which is why the soft decision was made, even though the vast majority was in favor of imposing tougher measures. Taking into account the voting this year, we see in the adoption of this decision not only manipulations on the part of some of the organization’s leaders, but also the own interest of the IESF President, Vlad Marinescu, who met with a representative of the RESF on the eve of the voting.
The Ukrainian Esports Federation cannot remain silent in this situation when its values and principles are ignored. We strongly condemn the IESF decision and call on other esports federations to join our protest.
The adoption of this decision, as well as recommendations from the Ministry, were the main reasons for withdrawing from the World Championship in the Romanian city of Iasi. This very difficult decision for everyone was supported by athletes who expressed their clear civic position, despite the great chances of being among the medalists of the competition. We are proud of them and thank them for their support! Having the names of Ukrainian Heroes on our jerseys who are defending our freedom, we have no moral right to defile their honor and continue to participate in competitions of an organization that tolerates war.
We are also going to hold an emergency meeting to consider the issue of withdrawing from the IESF. We cannot be part of an organization that does not uphold the basic principles of justice and respect for the territorial integrity of its members.
Glory to Ukraine!”

Fuck these guys
They had 25 abstentions, out of 68 members (not including Russia or Ukraine, obvs).
25 teams are simp cowards.
It would be interesting to know which national teams pussied out so hard that they couldn’t even find the spine to vote.
Also, I just checked their YouTube channel and most of their videos don’t even reach 500 views. How is this the World Esports Federation when they don’t even get the views of a part-time gamer playing Minecraft on YouTube?
Almost any gamer on YouTube could start a rival organization tomorrow and get the sponsors and viewership to replace this shitshow.
