I initially bought something online on sterling pounds price and was converted to euro and then refunded me the same amount in sterling pounds back to euro.

  1. Losing 4% is a bit high.

    Currency markets don’t move that much in a single day.I have my doubts that this didnt happen just because of currency market movements. But some kinda conversion fees are involved too

  2. They should generally be able to refund what they got at the rate at the time of purchase. You could follow up with them and ask why they did not. It’s possible you agreed to this sort of thing in the fine print though

  3. Why I like revolut. Amzon were bastards for charging upfront and if I cancelled an order before shipping, I’d usually lose out when they refunded it in gbp.

  4. Try complaining to your bank. It’s a nonsale so you shouldn’t be out of pocket.

  5. You can have your bank charge back the difference on this. Call the card team and dispute under reason code 12.2 for Visa. This happens all the time when refunding other currencies.
