  1. It sure feels like an election is going to be announced in the next few months with the uncharacteristic number of populist announcements – my guess is spring.

  2. I’d rather pay less for my fuel than worry about a speed limit change.

  3. I live in a housing estate with a 20mph speed limit and people do 40+ down the road past my house. I don’t think changing limits is going to do anything. The law just needs enforcement

  4. Considering the challenges the uk is facing, if you think banning 20mph is what the country needs, you shouldn’t be PM.

  5. Good, they need banning. Looks like he’s finally growing balls and doing things.

  6. He’s not a serious person, unfortunately we’re not a serious country on this matter and it will win votes.

  7. Think he’s on the wrong side of history on this one.

Nation has an obesity crisis and he wants to encourage the fatties to remain in their cars….

  8. A policy which would be massively popular amongst the public but not on this sub of course.

  9. Fuck it, why doesn’t he just give everyone vouchers for Wetherspoons every month if he’s that desperate for votes.

He does realise that a lot of motorists park their cars and when they emerge from their vehicles they are Father’s, mother’s, grandparents, residents, home owners etc and that maybe some road users appreciate 20mph so that the noise and pollution and children aren’t put in harm?

  10. If you’re going to vote Tory just because they let you drive at 30mph instead of 20 on some streets – you we’re always voting for Tory.

  11. 20mph zones where I live are typically in the immediate vicinity of schools, areas where drivers are well known for being careful, kind and considerate.

  12. My favourite political position… being anti road safety???
