[The Trees Swallow People](https://open.spotify.com/show/2aPgL4xQZE2wqdNL62xjsf) follows a man and his dog, Diva, living in Leixlip, Kildare, as they witness a mystery unfold involving people disappearing, going mad, or joining a cult because of a small paddock of trees in a public park. So far there are 14 episodes published, with 10 more on the way.

The series is set in Leixlip and does feature and explore real areas (St. Catherine’s Park, Main Street, River Forest, Ryevale, “The Lep”, Maynooth, “The Hill”, Confey bridge, etc). The series was made possible with a bursary grant by Kildare County Council and was recorded at Platform 4 Studios in Kildare.

The series is completely free and is available on most podcast platforms (Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Google, Itunes, Castbox, Youtube, and many more). Donations are appreciated but not obligatory.

In terms of style and tone, think slow burn with a healthy sprinkling of jump scares and some violence. If you like the likes of Silent Hill, Junji Ito, and gothic horror, then I think you might like it. More psychological-horror than creature-feature or slasher. There are even references to Irish mythology and the odd cúpla focail.

All sounds were fabricated humanely and using substitutions (e.g. instruments to mimic wind, chopping vegetables to mimic violence, etc).
