I am gonna climb out on a limb here but the Ukrainian people have a very proven track record of innovation. If anyone can keep a tank running is them. Plus there is going to be support out of Ukraine. They just need to grab the damaged tank and drag it back. Of course the Russians would have multiple orgasms at the thought of a capture Abrams.
Honestly the ATACMS are bigger news than the Abrams and will have more impact. But I guess the Abrams is more symbolic so the media is really hyping them.
The fighting on the front right now is about on par with Iwo Jima and there’s no air support to cover the tanks advance, you will see casualties. A alligator can absolutely pop off an Abrams. I’m not trying to be pessimistic but we need to have expectations here that are mirrored with reality.

Tanks are usually destroyed by artillery, drones, RPGs.
