I’ve always wanted a good paying job (which means I shouldn’t even stay in belgium 🥲 but I love this country so…). I’ve been told that I neither need to be highly competent (I am a mid stem new grad) or to *know the right people*.
But what networking events to go to (in STEM for instance) ? How do we even approach them during these events ? What to talk about ?
I’ve read a lot about the subject but my anxious brain can’t think of any situation where it wouldn’t feel awkward or forced. I feel like they don’t have much to gain from me so wouldn’t they also aim for people higher than them ? By this logic, I wouldn’t form any connection with them.
Does anyone have tips that have worked for them ?
