I’m travelling to Thailand in December and have to get a lot of vaccinations. I have an appointment at [Sikker Rejse](https://www.sikkerrejse.dk/tilskud/) tomorrow and have seen on their website that there is a 50% discount for members of Sygeforsikring.
Does anyone know if you gain the benefits as soon as you pay for the Sygeforsikring insurance (i.e. I sign up today)? Or is there a waiting period?

It takes some time to get approved, so in any case you are not going to be a member tomorrow
You can’t just sign up. They have to evaluate you.
You get it from day one.
You have to get approved for the insurance first. They will probably get and examine your GP and hospital journals, and if anything sticks out have you referred to one of their ‘independent’ doctors before being approved. So no, you can’t expect to get the benefits right away.
