  1. This definitely makes me feel better about having 3 different situations since November of randomers trying to fight or assault me in the city centre.

  2. the GPI includes many factors for their rankings, some of which most people would agree don’t really affect their level of perceived safety, such as financial contributions to UN peacekeeping missions, so the final result is a bit flawed or rather misunderstood. they do split the indicators into 3 different domains, and the safety and security domain is the closest thing to something like an ‘everyday’ safety factor. they only show the top 5 in their report and i don’t think the full results are public. the top based on the safety and security domain are:

    1.Finland
    2.Japan
    3.Iceland
    4.Singapore
    5.Norway

  3. Their methodology is weird… it seems that you can score higher just by having a really shit and small military
