  1. Strange that the CMO takes her time to speak about cannabis at the assembly on drugs use vs much graver issues such as the overdose rate here.

  2. Yes cannabis use among teenagers can lead to misuse and health issues down the line, more of a reason to legalise it, then have a ten year mandatory sentence for anyone found supplying it to those under the age of 18.

I don’t smoke it anymore as I did develop an addiction to it when I was younger and it was horrible but

I’ve friends who don’t drink because they developed an addiction to it when they were younger.

I’ve friends who don’t gamble because they developed addictions to it when they were younger.

I like a drink and a bet with no issues.

Some people can smoke a joint and live normal addiction free lives.

The minority of people using cannabis will become addicted to it just like alcohol or gambling but those who can enjoy it in moderation should not be penalised as by and large it is fairly harmless.

  3. Everybody knows a person that’s been negatively impacted by cannabis. Yes, alcohol and smoking are legal and far more dangerous. Yes, cannabis should be legal. But it is harmful in some ways

  4. >She noted that a study between 2011 and 2021 also showed that cannabis potency had increased by 57%.

The good thing about legalisation is that varieties that aren’t just very high in THC and low in CBD would also be available, rather than the shitty stuff on the market now.

  5. Pure propaganda used to appese the older generation. I can see their heads nodding. What the dummies don’t realise is with legalisation would remove the potency, stigma around it.

They actually can’t be serious in this!? You’d have to wonder are they being paid for their non scientific take on this.

In the article it also mentioned drug driving and people being 5 times over the limit for cannabis, what they fail to mention is the limit is not set to a realistic amount.

    Pure propaganda

  6. “She noted that a study between 2011 and 2021 also showed that cannabis potency had increased by 57%.”

Welcome to a prohibition and unregulated market, sounds like she’s advocating to make it a legislated and regulated product so we’re not all ‘drinking moonshine’
