This reminded me of the 200,000 Serbs who left Croatia, fearing military action against them. Although I know there are conflicting opinions, and even today, some justify it as if the Serbs did it voluntarily, even though it was a war zone.
Well, now Armenians are “voluntarily” leaving Karabakh, and it’s indeed a sad sight.
I just watched a video of a man and his son placed on a pavement, draped in the Armenian flag then executed by an Azeri soldier clearly speaking Turkic language.
No wonder they fled. I hope all Armenians make it safely into Armenia and that Armenia becomes an eventual member of the European Union.
Modern day genocide. Absolutely disgusting. Armenia deserves support from all of Europe.
I once worked with Azeri people. They hate Armenians so much, these guys couldn’t shut up about Armenia even though there was nothing related to Armenia happening.
Hurray for genocide and doing nothing about it!
What makes no sense to me is why Russia or the West couldn’t do more to force Baku to respect the rights of the Armenians of Azerbaijan. Russia I guess I understand because they’re Russia but the fact that we did nothing is flat out embarrassing. Even with Azerbaijanian total victory this ethnic evacuation didn’t have to happen if we did something about it.
Mercy. When armenians invaded karabakh a good portion of azerbaijani civilians were killed, rest of them had to leave their homes barefoot. The armenians today are leaving with their cars and some of their belongings, without even a bloody nose. Congrats, you proved you are better than them.
I have no doubt I’ll be down voted to oblivion but I am glad this is the extent of it. For weeks lots of people were posting the expectation that it will be much, much worse. While this isn’t the ideal outcome, expulsion is a lot better than a genocide. The Azervaijanis have the upper hand *could* have done a full on massacre. The situation was untenable and anyone thinking that Artsakh could exist inside a sovereign nation is deluding themselves. Here’s hoping it doesn’t get worse from here.
