  1. > In a series of follow-up tweets, she confirmed that she “[does] get paid for some media appearances” but doesn’t ask for fees “for what are supposed to be 10-minute interviews.”

    > She then wrote: “Oscillated about making this public but it’s an illustrative coda to yesterday’s Sky interview. [I] Will be making a £200 donation to [charity Beyond Equality].

    > “Sky’s usual payment for interviews – and what I was initially offered – is £75,” she continued. “But it transpired Connor was being paid £200.”

    So she didn’t *pursue* a fee where it’s likely he did. Maybe she should be more demanding of her time if she felt she should be paid, rather than assuming “what’s fair” then being stunned that people will take something for nothing if they can get away with it.

  2. She said she didn’t ask to be paid:

    >(To note, I do get paid for some media appearances but I don’t ask for fees for what are supposed to be 10 minute interviews!)

    And is now being paid:

    >Have confirmed my opposite on Sky was offered ££ to ask me stupid questions, so I’ve asked for the same fee and will be donating it to
    @Beyond_Equality
    , who run educational programmes educating young men on rejecting patriarchal culture in favour of a positive masculinity.

  3. So she offered to do it for free and he didn’t. That’s all. But of course she’ll play the “ism” card without assuming there was other factors at play.

  4. It seems obvious that if you want a male journalist to go on TV and talk about misogyny you’ll need to pay them. That’s not exactly a fun gig.

    Probably different if it’s your personal cause etc.

  5. Novara must have shares in GB news. They are always begging to go on.
