Ultimately Russia just has a lot of crap that Ukraine needs to kill before it can win the war. It’s a matter of keeping the aid flow up enough that Ukraine can maintain and build on that rate of attrition.
At the start of the offensive Ukraine’s claimed artillery numbers shot up and have been consistently high since. If those numbers are true (within reason) and it can keep up that pressure then it’s a sheer matter of time till breakthroughs are forced.
I do think the article forgets the airforce. Russian jets have been running constantly since the start of the war. Russia’s advantage here is massive, but at some point those jets will simply be unflyable. Russia could buy more, but they’ll be hideously expensive, and it isn’t capable of producing anywhere near enough to sustain their use.
