Terve !
I am EU national (Poland). I am planning to move to Finland to study Masters in Data Science, maybe, if the situation allows, find some internship/job in a near future.
However, for the time being, I would like to stay with my current employer to support myself. It is maltese based company where I am working as a business analyst. We agreed that we can switch from employment contract (that I have being in Malta) to me being self employment and invoicing them on monthly basis and working from home wherever I will be.
I have a couple of questions regarding that matter and if you could give me some information, or point me to the right website/law or accounting firm that will explain it to me thoroughly, I will really really appreciate it !
So:
1. First and foremost, is it actually possible ? I know that some countries do not allow it, since you will only invoice one client. I work irregular hours, no paid leave and all the equipment I work with is bought by myself. Also the client is foreign with no subsidiary in Finland, so no possibility for me to have employment contract in Finland with this company. But yes, I know the cases when some countries do not really want you to do it having just one client. I might find some smaller jobs in the future, but I want to make sure how it looks as it is for now.
2. If it is possible, would you recommend rather setting up your own sole proprietorship or use services like kevytyrittajat or [ukko](https://ukko.fi) ? I don’t know about the amount of paperwork that needs to be done on monthly basis. I won’t issue a lot of invoices and also I don’t think I can deduct many things as my expenses.
3. If I understand correctly, service like [ukko](https://ukko.fi) works in the following way : my client sends money to [ukko](https://ukko.fi) under invoice they issue and then ukko will pay me the amount (minus taxes and their fee), but I will have something like employment contract with ukko so that will basically work like salary?
4. Do you know any accurate calculator that will give me the amount of money I will have after all the taxes and social security payment as a self-employed person? Let’s say that I will issue invoice for 2500EUR monthly. I found one here : [https://www.ukko.fi/kevytyrittajyys/kevytyrittaja-laskuri/](https://www.ukko.fi/kevytyrittajyys/kevytyrittaja-laskuri/), but well, first of all, it’s for ukko, not for the self-employment I will set up myself, and also, does it also take into account social security and health insurance?
Thank you very much for reading this and for your help, I’m sorry if I am confused about some stuff.
Kiitos
