I call for it all to be scrapped and the money spent on housing, the NHS and a free 99 ice cream with flake to be provided to everyone who votes. Guess which one I snuck in just for me 😊
This is theatre. Focus groups probably found that Sunak is seen as weak (well, they wouldn’t need a focus group for that…), so they are trying to make him look as someone who is capable of making “tough” decisions. HS2 was probably on the chopping board long time ago. This is just Sunak’s microwaved “victory”.
