He was asked if he would join a left wing coalition after the last election. He nearly shat his pants on TV at the thought of it. So.
If PBP actually end up in government I’ll delete my account create one with a pro RBB username

I’m thinking – RBBs-pet-badger or something

God help us if those nutters ever get into power.
Left needs to get organised now rather than 2025 to make an impact. SF is being used as a protest vote + surge in actual popularity. But they are not going to rule without FF or FG as it stands, and they will undermine them at every turn if in power together or in a confidence and supply.
2 and a half years out, time to put shape to things or not piss and moan come formation time.
Bold words from a man who’s probably going to be losing his seat to SF.
Best way for RBB to help with that is to dump PBP and run as an independent.

I agree, but the left are purists to their individual causes. Good enough is never good enough.
I’d like to see a cohesive coalition of the left. But I don’t think I will.

Those downvoting are free to offer their opinion.
Sin Fein is more likely to absorb PBP’s votes than got into coalition with them, by 2035 Irish politics is likely to be Fine Gael vs Sinn Fein with the sprinkling of soft left parties for people still refusing to vote SF.
I would beg anyone left leaning to keep PBP off your ballot.
RBB will never compromise himself with having do something like make a decision he doesn’t like. He will just call the game rigged and talk a lot about other stuff. He will never go into government, he would hate being a minister in charge of anything. He would love the power that came with but hate doing the work. I like him calling the government out on bad decisions but he can a broken record and a lot of the positions he supports are bad as well.
“Firmly grasp it.”
This lunatic would steal people’s pensions, raise taxes higher than 52% and do God knows other insane shit.
Let’s hope he keeps to talking shit to student unions or whatever he does
>In his objection to the plan local TD Richard Boyd Barrett told the appeals board that residents would be heavily affected “by the inappropriate height of the development”. While IADT are in need of student accommodation, we fear this accommodation will be too expensive for most to afford and therefore not fit for purpose.”
I love the idea of socialism. I wish someone could show me a socialist government that didnt morph into conservatives. Are the poor any better off in Canada than they were? Did tony blairs Labour do anything other than kill 1 million Iraqis? Its horrific to think, but they really are all the same. Hows America these days?

They wrote a pamphlet stating the military a.d Gardai would forcibly take control of the country if they got into government.
That is as nutty as the fair right and their theories.
These professional protesters would never actually want to be in government, it would take too much time away from their whinging.

I’m a leftist and can’t stand RBB. He’s like a caricature of the privileged socialists who rail about the working class but have never had a job outside politics. His railing against the housing crisis rings very [hollow ](https://www.irishtimes.com/business/retail-and-services/student-accommodation-plan-for-baker-s-corner-opposed-1.4718473)when he opposes student housing for being too high (using the typical NIMBY figleaf of also saying it’s too expensive).
