NHS to ban anaesthetic to hit net zero despite climate scientist saying concern is ‘not supported by science’

  1. Scottish NHS banned desflurane back in March.

    Surely patient safety should go ahead in this case. Does this gas get used enough to have a meaningful enough impact? I’m sure more noticeable effects could be had elsewhere through modernised and more efficient hospitals. I don’t know if the studies are strong enough to suggest either way.

    Given this is a gas and is inhaled, does your body not break it down anyway?
